Jason Engelbart is a contemporary artist who employs a compelling and distinctive aesthetic in his digital abstract works, known as "neo-paintings." Colors and shapes swirl with apparent motion, collapsing yet never losing each other, blending yet retaining their form at the same time. The source of Engelbart's group of works THE JOY OF BEING can be found in the opulent works of Baroque painting by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo through Antoine Watteau to Jean-Honoré Fragonard. He is particularly fascinated by the playful use of light and color, the flowing forms and the special opulent aura of the Baroque works. On an emotional level, Engelbart is particularly moved by the religious and mythological scenes of the ceiling and wall paintings of this artistic period. Jason Engelbart lives and works in Hamburg, Germany. His works have been shown in numerous national and international exhibitions, such as Amory Art Weeks New York, Art Basel Miami and Swiss Art Expo Zurich.
